William Blake's Divine Humanity, 2007

Eternity in an Hour, 2008

Tim was commissioned by international company Theatre of Eternal Values to write the stage play William Blake’s Divine Humanity (a dramatisation of the life and work of poet, artist and visionary William Blake) which formed the centrepiece of the Blake 250 Festival in London in November 2007. A well-received run of performances took place at the New Players Theatre in London’s West End from 20 November-2 December 2007, featuring an international cast of sixteen actors, singers, dancers and musicians.

The script was nominated for the

18th Meyer-Whitworth playwriting award,

administered by the Royal National Theatre.

A one act touring version of the play entitled

Eternity in an Hour is currently touring Europe,

having premiered at the Korjaamo theatre as part of the Helsinki International Arts festival in August 2008.

‘…It was always going to be a theatrical challenge, as writer Tim Bruce says of attempting to do justice to the complexity of Blake’s works, and the Theatre of Eternal Values rose beautifully to it, presenting a wonderfully lyrical production…visually stunning… an acoustic feast...’
